Eligibility

Zelený Les Artist Residency was open to Individuals, artist couples and/or artist teams working in 2D, 3D, mixed media, performance art, dance/movement, sound, music composition, installation, film, video, photography, writing, interdisciplinary, and social engagement practices.

The residency’s mission was to serve as both incubator and land grant for artists to examine the historical, cultural, environmental and personal dimensions of a 19th century farming homestead. Of special interest were applicants whose practices reflect an engagement with landscape, nature, ecology, the environment, and/or history. Artists were encouraged to use and interpret the residency site as a primary resource for site-specific projects.

We invited applicants to research the history of the site and the surrounding region. Artists were encouraged to learn about the residency’s setting and various land assets prior to applying.
